Elderly women who drink alcoholic beverages are better to cope with the tasks of quick wits, memory, abstract thinking and language knowledge than their nonsense peers. Such conclusions were made by American researchers from the University of the University of Wake Forest (USA), who studied the data of 7460 Americans over 65 years old. It turned out that women who drunk from one to three standard portions of alcoholic beverages per day, better coped with the proposed tasks. The head of the study Mark Espland

suggested that such alcohol consumption can have a protective effect on the central nervous system of older women, preventing the development of senile dementia, in particular Alzheimer’s disease. At the same time, Epland does not recommend that non -to -wing women change their habits. At least while the mechanism of exposure to alcohol on the brain will not be thoroughly studied.
